A lesson in how to avoid fast food blogs is part of the basic survival gear on the Internet these days.
In a recent post, Michael Arrington of TechCrunch lamented "The End of Hand Crafted Content" recently reposted with further comments in this article on "Fast Food Content" at Bloggers Blog.
For those interested in partnering with a professional blogger, be aware the dangers include:
- Poorly written content reflecting negatively on you and your product or service
- Keyword stuffing which though used to gain a promised high search ranking will eventually be punished by the search engines
- Poor quality without viable sources or good information which will mean that while the post may rank well initially it will not attain inbound links from other sites or social media like Facebook or Twitter eventually hurting ranking
- Possible duplication with the same article being used on multiple sites and occasionally possibly even for your competitors again running the risk, if nothing else, of appearing unprofessional, possibly plagiarized and again running afoul of the search engines
In the end, such junk content may be cheaper, but you get what you pay for and readers WILL know the difference. Beware.
