UK Website seeks live video streams

"All we need is to see the camera picture and then if we like it we can offer to stream it live," says Mark Welch, CEO of fiNETra, the live streaming video company responsible for CheckItLive.

"We can use the majority of cameras – what we suggest is that if someone is interested we will run some tests and reconfigure the user's PC to run on our servers," Welch adds.

A UK company has launched a new live video feed site offering views of zoo animals, holiday destinations, even the surf condition at local beaches.

The site offers not only the opportunity to watch feeds from around the UK but also to comment and share that video through a variety of bookmark communities including Digg, LiveJournal and de.licio.us.

CheckItLive.com features a growing collection of live feeds in a vartiety of categories so far including surf, animals, travel and TV.

There is also a "yours" category offering vistors the opportunity to submit their own video feeds for possible inclusion on the site and a way to make money if your feeds are chosen.
